- Previous: POLAR PLUNGE 2014 LAKE LURE NC Just south of the towering Chimney Rock State Park along Hickory Nut Gorge lays Lake Lure one of the most beautiful man made lakes in the world. Today January 1st the water temperature matched the surface temp, 42 degrees. This is the 6th year this small town of just over 1,000 residents has hosted this event. A record 203 plungers braved the chilling waters to prove they are committed to diving into the new year washing away 2013.
- Next: We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then……
